The purpose of the project is to automate the Wire Processing process in the Advisor Desktop and Front Office Wire Initiation system (FWI) applications. A Wire request is received from the Advisor desktop’s “FWI- Bot queue,” the virtual analyst will then pick the request from this queue and key in the wire in FWI system following the business logic corresponding to the wire type.
  • It is good working on Pega robotics. It makes work easier and simple. It is easy to automate work using Pega robotics' automation.
  • Good support of custom code so you can extend functionality.
  • Automation of desktop or web application.
I am using Pega to automate our desktop or web application. This is the perfect platform to scale the work on demand. The average developer can extend the functionality.

We use the Pega Platform for its Robotic Process Automation functionality. We've been using it since early 2015 and have found great value in the robotic process automation platform. We have used both the fully automated robotic process automation "Bots" as well as the robotic "desktop" automation bots that work along side a human for completing their tasks. We use the RPA solutions primarily within our customer service department at this time.
  • Great flexibility in creating a UI for Robotic Desktop Automation solutions.
  • Web services are able to be used in conjunction with the RPA solutions.
  • Process Recording and automatic code generation is a very nice feature as well.
  • RPA marketing likes to say that traditional developers are not needed to "code" RPA solutions. This is not true for Pega RPA. A coding background is really needed to work on advanced automations.
  • The pricing / licensing model for RPA bots does not compete well with some competitors.
Pega RPA is well suited for situations where you want to design a single UI that will allow agents to work in one place rather than having to manipulate data in many different environments, over and over again. For example, if you have SAP, Siebel and Salesforce, you can create a UI that allows your agent to work within that single UI vs. having to Alt Tab between all three applications.

Pega platform is used as a development tool to deliver BPM software in our organization. It is used in one SBU not in the whole organization. It is used to develop solutions related to domains such as Healthcare, Insurance Banking and Finance. In addition, it is used to build fleet management system and logistics related system.

Following Pega Best practices and having Pega expertise benefits in developing large scale software solutions in long term. This toll can manage large data sets with reports, It encourages developer to build with the end product in mind. Performance issue handling, Exceptions handling and even including comments is monitored at development time.

There are in built frameworks in Pega platform that provides the ability to develop and deliver solutions faster. Developing UIs in Pega is easy. Developer need to drag and drop inbuilt Pega layouts and can apply necessary CSS and styles using Pega skin. So, UIs can be customized to meet customer needs. These responsive UIs are easily accessible from mobile, tab and desktop with minimum and/or no configuration.

  • Reusability
  • Pega’s Situational layer cake architecture is capable of organizing application to suit enterprise needs. An enterprise can have a complex organization structure located around the globe. Because of Situational layer cake architecture reusing common policies and procedures is easy while allowing for differences between products, regions, channels and customer segments.Whereas with some application development platforms, separate copies of the application should be created to suite different business context.
  • Faster application delivery
  • With Pega developers can reuse common policies and procedures, replicate functions and industry specific frameworks and utilize pega UI elements to develop applications. IT is easy to deploy. Therefore developers are capable of delivering application earlier compared to some application development platforms. Pega reduces time taken to deliver an outcome.
  • Pega upgrades
  • Pega platform is upddated to adapt and work with latest technologies.
  • Proprietary users support and maintain Pega platform continuously. Pega customer support is always willing to enhance product support.
  • Need more learning materials. For Beginners who have previous programming experience with another language takes more time to learn.
  • If the developer is met with an issue in pega platform , they have to rely on Pega supporting team to fix it.
  • Customization is available but is not encouraged. Pega does not support faults that occur in customized solutions.
Pega plaform is well suited for large enterprise application development. Pega provides powerful capabilities in implementing security. It is used in Banking, healthcare and Insurance domains. So many banks all over the world are using Pega to develop their applications.Healthcare and insurance corporations also benefit similarly.
Developing attractive UIs is difficult in Pega.

Pega is currently sponsoring our organization. Pega is being implemented company-wide from project management to design.
  • Pega uses stern guidelines which help our company keep up with best practices.
  • The Pega Platform is a good method to communicate & document Ideas
  • Establishing a workflow with Service level agreements are easy to use.
  • The Pega academy is very counterproductive. not the best way to educate new users.
  • The Pega web client does have a learning curve that could halt workflow.
The Pega system works very well when establishing a project. Setting milestones and deadlines are set and clearly visible across project members.

Pega platform is used in my organisation for health insurance projects. We have a huge user base who use this application to get approvals for insurance.
  • Fast development and delivery, very good for Agile projects.
  • Pega Support Community is a great forum to learn new concepts.
  • It's very scalable and flexible.
  • Pega needs to improve in terms of training on new upgrades of Pega.
  • The Pega team themselves do not provide history and description for its rules. No proper documentation.
  • Machine learning, RPA should be better .
  • Should have better automatic unit testing (AUT).
  • Reporting needs improvements.
Pega is very well suited for projects with big user bases. It's not suitable when we need to hold large chunks of data for processing.

It is one of the finest BPNM tools out there and has been used to provide a solution to partially automate many processes for which a team of 10 to 15 people was required earlier. Used an established framework also helped in saving a lot of money in research and development of a completely new in-house tool.
  • The learning curve is not very high which helped in quickly integrating newbies to the team and train them.
  • It has a lot of deployment ready features e.g : a ready to deploy cross platform UI with minimal customization, engines to handle business rules and a robust data handling engine.
  • New state of the art features like IOT integration and analytics are added benefits.
  • It is a solution which can be quickly customized for a market-ready product but there is are limitations on that. To go beyond a certain limit needs professionals which are hard to find.
Pega is very well suited to automate existing business process which requires a moderate amount of automation. A solution built with it can be deployed in quick time and since the learning curve is low, newbies can be easily integrated into the team to work on development. But specialist professionals are hard to come by when more advanced requirements are the need of the hour. The documentation is surprisingly sparse, pdn being the only primary reference.

Pega Platform is used on an enterprise level as an MRM system to support the call center.
  • With flexibility comes complexity. Pega is very flexible so it requires trained IT pros.
  • Pega has great community support.
  • Pega has good courses that teach you how to develop.
  • Learning curve is somewhat steep, however, once mastered everything becomes possible.
  • Pega integrates with Avaya - thus making customer popup info, when a customer calls, an achievable task.
  • Pega is suitable for medium to large enterprises.

We use Pega Platform to develop proof of concepts for our customers. We are also trying to address internal topics enabling RPA processes.
  • Integration with external systems
  • Report customization
  • Ease at managing workflows
  • Integration with IoT devices in a simple way
  • Make easier the way to design and develop skins
  • Make logged errors easy to read when looking for the root cause
Pega is really appreciated when used as an orchestrator. As some errors are not clear at runtime, users may find difficult to understand the nature of issues.

My department is using Pega independently of other departments across our family of companies that are also using Pega. Currently we are addressing getting work to the right time at the right place at our auctions.
  • Development can be fast once you establish a consistent, agile rhythm.
  • It's extremely easy to start mocking up a new application during DCO sessions and initial meetings. Clients can immediately see what the application could look like which helps with buy-in.
  • Pega 7 has the ability to connect to and integrate with other systems. Currently we are focusing on connecting to our legacy systems but plan to integrate with applications like Oracle in the near future.
  • I felt the training offered through Pega wasn't sufficient to really get started. I'm not sure if it's because of how our department uses Pega or if the courses didn't go into enough detail.
  • As someone still learning how to do development in Pega, I find it extremely difficult to pinpoint why I am getting errors. I think there needs to better and more clear documentations of errors and how to fix them.
  • There are very few online resources for troubleshooting issues in Pega. I believe there is a section on PDN that allows users to enter questions. The one time I've used it I don't think I ever received a response.
You really need to see if the work you are trying to manage the flow of makes sense to model as a case. Our department is modeling some things as cases that I'm not convinced need to be modeled that way. Our use cases aren't as straight-forward as something like a financial transaction (in terms of well-ordered steps). Pega is made to handle alternative flows that vary a lot but it is dificult to wrap your head around modeling it to work properly in Pega.

We are using Pegasystems' products to build all our contact center applications. It enables us to create flexible, multi-tenant applications that are business user friendly and capable of integrating with a wide variety of third party applications.
  • Tightly coupled business rules engine
  • Ability to delegate control to business users
  • Ability to integrate with almost any external application
  • Easy to build complicated workflows
  • Developer pool not as deep as needed
  • Learning curve is fairly steep
  • Cost is sometimes prohibitive for building smaller applications
  1. Pegasystems is well suited for complex business processes that are susceptible to frequent changes.
  2. It is also an excellent choice for systems involving several external applications.
  3. It is not particularly suited towards low-complexity static applications.

We use Pega solutions to automate our claims processing systems and claims adjudication.
  • Pega has a variety of products to support claims processing; we use as a rules engine which helps us to drive our own business rules and make it as a complete rules processing system
  • It does provide health care frameworks, which comes up with pre-configured rules and decision making systems
  • The versioning and code repository is big plus with Pega as we do not depend on external versioning tool
  • The rule comparison is nice to have, but currently we don't have ability to compare one rule with a previous version to see the differences
  • To delete multiple steps in an activity in one single click
  • The documentation is not clear, sometimes it is missing key elements or has incorrect information
The performance needs to be improved. The system is slow when it runs on limited hardware resources. Application development has a steep learning curve.
